Electric KTM RC8?

Right on schedule, Mavizen has released its TTX02 electric motorcycle at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas. Well, if you listen to Azhar Hussain, TTXGP founder and the entrepreneur behind this racebike, the TTX02 is a "laptop on wheels." How so? For starters, each machine is fitted with an dash-mounted computer that runs on Linux, comes with its own dedicated IP address, on-board web server and connectivity to wireless networks.

While all of that consumer electronics gadgetry is cool, it's the platform of the TTX02 that interests us the most. As previously rumored, the TTX02 is definitely based on the chassis of KTM's highly acclaimed RC8 superbike, which means it's a proven platform that's capable of solid handling and high speeds... good thing, as the TTX02 is said to be capable of hitting 130 miles per hour.

Twin Agni 95 electric motors push out a total of nearly 100 peak horsepower along with what's surely an admirable torque figure that peaks right off the bat at just about zero RPM. Three lithium ion battery packs will be made available with up to 11 kWh of power, which is reportedly capable of tackling all 38 miles of the TTXGP Isle of Man course. Pricing is not yet announced, but Hussain suggests a competitive machine can be had for around $40,000.

The Ultra-Rare Zenvo ST1

A Danish company by the name Zenvo Automotive has been working on a new project, the ST1. With a mid-mounted turbocharged and supercharged 7.0-liter V8 engine (perhaps from Chevrolet?), the ST1 puts out an incredible 1,104 horsepower and funnels it through a six-speed manual gearbox.

The project was started back in 2004, and the first cars are planned for delivery in 2010. The first performance tests were completed in October 2008 and the rear-wheel-drive ST1 is claimed to have reached 62 mph in what we imagine was a traction-limited 3.2 seconds. The run to 120 was accomplished in just under nine seconds and the top speed is reported to be an electronically limited 233 mph.

The Zenvo ST1 certainly looks unique, with a very geometric appearance, including boomerang-shaped vents adorning the grille, hood and sides. Nothing quite like it is currently rolling on the roads and with just 15 scheduled for production, prospective owners can count on never seeing one in the Whole Foods parking lot. Still no word on price, though, you and I know what that means.

Lotus Exige Scura Edition

In anticipation of its official coming out party at the Tokyo Motor Show, Lotus just dropped the details on the new special edition blacked out Lotus Exige alternatively known as Scura (Italian for 'dark'). Only 35 will be built worldwide and none of them appear headed to the States unfortunately.

This newest Exige special looks menacing with its matte black paint, contrasting gloss black stripes and carbon fiber highlights. It's powered by the 260-hp version of the ubiquitous supercharged 4-cylinder and comes standard with launch control, traction control and 2-way adjustable Ohlin’s dampers. And thanks to the prodigious amount of carbon fiber inside and out, this featherweight flyer drops another 10kg, allowing it to do the 0-60 sprint in 4 seconds flat. It should also reach 100 in less than ten seconds on its way to a top speed of 152 mph.

Supercharged Audi R8 By VF Engineering

The tuners at VF Engineering have been working hard developing forced induction systems for German built sports cars for a number of years now, however with the 525 HP V10 powered Audi R8 about to be unleashed on the streets their latest project could be their most profitable yet. The supercharger pumps a mere 5 psi of boost into the combustion chamber while the stratified injection has been re-tuned with a simple ECU re-flash from the engine software scientists at GIAC.

What is so great about the package is that it will raise the current R8’s output from 420 HP all the way up to 550 HP, this makes a modified R8 even more powerful than the upcoming Lamborghini inspired one. The 5.2 Liter V10 is only 75 pounds heavier than the FSI V8 version, so if the design team at VF Engineering can keep the roots style supercharger and intercooler light enough it will weigh a bit less too. Either way, the bargain that you get by modifying a slightly used super car as opposed to going out and purchasing a brand new 525 HP Audi R8 is simply unbeatable.

1000+hp Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera

Some of you may already know about the Heffner Performance 1000 HP Lamborghini Gallardo Twin Turbo. Well, the tuner has just announced that they are preparing a similar package for the lightweight Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. With the same power figures under the rear deck lid, the special edition super car will be able to thrust from 0 to 60 MPH in only 2.8 seconds. The video above is simply more proof as to how much better the tuned Superleggera is over the exotic Italian automaker’s standard Gallardo super car. For more on Heffner and the kit click here.

Future Audi R4?

Based on the e-tron, the new Audi R4 will be smaller than the R8 supercar, but larger than the TT, and will headline an electric version above regular gas models. As part of the VW Group, the R4 will share architecture with the next-generation Porsche Boxster and Cayman, and both a coupe and a targa-top will be available.

As in the e-tron, the electric R4 will be powered by a lithium-ion battery pack with four electric motors, one for each wheel. In lieu of a traditional power plant, the 1,036-pound lithium-ion battery will be placed in the middle of the car. The entire e-tron concept weighs just 3,527 pounds and delivers a range of about 150 miles on a full charge, specifications that could change slightly as the production model moves into the prototype stage.

Gas-powered R4s will offer the same engines currently offered in the TT, including the 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo that's standard in the European TT-RS, a model not available in the U.S. The American-spec TT tops out with the 2.0-liter inline-4 turbo TT-S, and it's not yet clear whether the 2.5-liter turbo will make it to the States or if we'll again make do with the smaller engine.

No word on projected pricing yet for the R4, but the base-level 2010 Audi R8 lists for $114,200, while the targeted 2010 Tesla Roadster currently starts at $109,000. The Audi R4 is expected to enter the market in 2012.

Honda S2000 Runs 10.7

This turbocharged Honda S2000 has been out for awhile now, but I still get excited a very time I see it in action. The video above is crazy, but the one below puts you in the driver's seat. The build is by Plazmaman if you're interested in more information. Enjoy!

Triumph Daytona 1050 By Six Monkeys

The Triumph Daytona 675 has always been the only supersport type bike for Triumph. Now, I personally love this bike, the only thing is they’ve never gone pass the 600cc mark. Some bring up the 955i but that was always more sport than super, but a German company by the name “Six Monkeys” did their best in coming up with a big brother for the British motorcycle manufacturer. They brought in a 1050cc engine, off the Speed Triple model, and tuned the fuel injection system and the airbox so that they can talk big numbers. They’re talking 139bhp at 9,100rpm and 116Nm of torque at 7,600rpm kind of numbers, oh yeah.
1
To help level out the extra weight they bring in some carbon fiber bodywork and the overall shape and style does show resemblance of the middleweight production Daytona. Also, this custom motorcycle features Wilbers suspension components and steering damper, while the exhaust system was supplied by BOS and the tires are Dunlop Qualifier RR. This is my kind of Triumph, totally DRM.

Porsche Design's Latest Creations

Porsche Design has recently released their latest line of driving shoes. They sit a little higher than the sneakers designed for Adidas, mainly because the latest footwear is more for those days in the office. But don’t get the wrong idea, their still designed for heel-and-toe action. The right sole is grooved for quick transition from gas to brake, while the left sole is designed to grip the clutch pedal. Porsche Design also released its new fragrance called "The Essence Intense." Porsche Design says Intense packs notes of myrtle, juniper and mandarin into a sleek bottle of frosted black glass and satin black brushed aluminum.
